Contraindications for use of Laser Therapy

There are very few contraindications for low level laser therapy compared to other forms of electro-therapy. Organ transplant patients are contraindicated in order to avoid any possibility that the lasers' positive effects on the immune systems could interfere with the critically important immune suppression and management. Also, caution should always be observed in instances of pregnancy, epilepsy and direct treatment of the thyroid gland. With cancer patients the consultant’s approval should always be sought prior to any treatment.

The acupuncture-point finder function should not be used on any patient with a pacemaker since it measures relative resistance to a micro-electric current, which is passed through the body.

Do not hesitate to contact us at Omega Laser with any queries or clarification regarding cautions or contraindications.
